Gideon Roberts, Operations Director and Co-Founder

Gideon’s main goals at AlwaysOnMessage (AoM) see him overseeing all aspects of production: from design to implementation and deployment, to the smooth-running of all in-office processes; including the daily operations associated with app development and in ensuring the company has access to cutting-edge solutions that deliver expert apps on time, and on budget. As Operations Director, Gideon’s past experiences in online marketing and SEO also bring key skills to the management team as the team focuses on the importance of app marketing and optimisation in all of AoM’s activities.

With a career that spans 30 years, Gideon began working in telecommunications when he was 19 and the industry was just starting out. As one of the first people to market telephone systems after the industry became liberalised, Gideon went on to excel in sales and marketing roles in a variety of telecom companies, including Martin Dawes Communications and Carphone Warehouse.

He later launched Airtime Angels, a marketing agency that set up the Affinity Fone scheme to raise funds for over 40 UK charities. Linking mobile billing through Cellnet the scheme allowed consumers to donate a percentage of call charges to their chosen charity without a cost to themselves. These charities included the likes of Save the Children Fund, Great Ormand St. Hospital and Action Aid.

After a short sabbatical, Gideon returned to the telecommunications industry through multimedia company NetEvents.tv. It was through this role as Business Development Manager that Gideon saw the growing importance of websites and the key metrics associated with online business and joined web, intranet, SEO and online marketing agency Forward Slash Digital (FSD).
